CFB Futures — Heisman Trophy

Heisman Trophy – Top 4 – Bijan Robinson RB Texas (+750)

Our friends at BetOnline.ag do a great job offering a big menu of props and future bets.  One that caught our eye this year is to finish in the Top 4 of the Heisman balloting.

The two chalkiest (new word?) players on the board are defending Heisman winner Bryce Young and Ohio State gunslinger CJ Stroud.  Barring injury, it’s pretty safe to assume one or both of these young ballers will make a return trip to the Downtown Athletic Club in December.  The negative odds on this duo though has us looking elsewhere for some value.

The Heisman has been given to a quarterback in 10 of the last 12 years, and with some quality signal callers roaming the gridiron this season, we don’t want to buck that trend.  Instead, we’ll look toward who we feel is the best running back in the country to crack the Top 4 in Heisman votes and get a trip to New York.  Bijan Robinson from Texas is an explosive runner who put over 1100 yards up in 2021 despite missing the final two games due to injury.  Robinson is a first-team Preseason All-American and is considered by many, including Todd McShay to be the top RB prospect in the 2023 draft.

If Robinson can stay healthy, we fully expect him to be in the front row for the 2022 Heisman presentation and we wouldn’t be too surprised if he takes the hardware home with him.  To win our bet though, at seven and a half to one, he just needs to finish in the Top 4.
