NFL Pre-Season Week 2: FREE PICK ALERT! 🚨

Bears (+3.5) vs. Seahawks — 2 units

Thursday, August 18th, 2022 @ 8:00pm

In Week 1 of preseason, Seahawks coach Pete Carroll got a good look at his top two signal callers, as he didn’t even let 3rd string QB Jacob Eason take a snap.  Geno Smith and Drew Lock both delivered solid performances with Lock throwing for 2 touchdowns.  We might have expected more of the same this week, but Lock has since tested positive for COVID and won’t play against the Bears.

This week across the NFL teams have been participating in joint practices with their upcoming Week 2 opponents.  Our feeling is that many of these teams are taking advantage of these practice sessions to get their starters some work and they won’t play their starters through the first half and well into the 3rd quarter, as was typical in years past in the penultimate game of the preseason.  In the case of the Seahawks, this means we should expect to see Geno Smith, in our opinion a guy who should not be starting in the NFL, for maybe a half.  He’ll then give way to Eason who will see his first live action of the year.

On the other side of the ball, the Bears will counter with Justin Fields who is backed up by Trevor Siemian and Nathan Peterman, both capable backups with starting NFL experience.  Last week, the Bears gave up early touchdowns to the Chiefs, only to shut them down in the second half 19-0 on their way to a 19-14 win.

We’ll play on the Bears team getting a nice preseason number at +3.5 for 2 units, as we are convinced the Seahawks will have a tough time moving the ball sans Lock.  We see the same spread across the board and we encourage you to jump on this line with our friends at BetUS.com before it moves any further.
