Bills (+6) vs. Panthers — 2 units

We roll into Week 3 of the NFL preseason on a 7-1 run, and once again we’ll be looking to take some generous points that bookmakers are handing out.
While most bettors are aware that the Ravens have been on a record-breaking preseason win streak, the Bills under Sean McDermott have been dominating as well, having won and covered ten straight preseason games.
We know that one of the keys to picking winners in the preseason is to be on the team with the best quarterback depth. While Josh Allen is clearly the man in Buffalo, his backups are more than capable. Case Keenum would start for about 10 teams in the NFL. He and third-stringer Matt Barkley went a combined 23 for 26 in a 42-15 rout of the Broncos last week. The Bills offense looks deep and in midseason form. We would be surprised if we saw any of Josh Allen this week but it just doesn’t matter.
Meanwhile, the Panthers recently named Baker Mayfield their starter for week 1. While we expect to see him play, we’d be surprised if he goes too far beyond the first quarter. The Panthers just lost rookie Matt Corral for the year and they won’t want to take any more hits to the position. Mayfield will give way to Sam Darnold and PJ Walker.
