Oregon Ducks (+17) vs. Georgia Bulldogs
Betting 2 units
The Georgia defense has to take a step back after losing five defenders to the first round! of the NFL draft… doesn’t it? We actually don’t expect too much of a regression, but they won’t be able to repeat allowing only ten points per game. Their first test of ’22 is a good one when the Ducks migrate to Atlanta. Oregon brings a talented defense with them as well, led by All-American Noah Sewell. Last year, Oregon went to Columbus as 14-point dogs and beat Ohio State outright 35-28. We won’t go as far as calling for the outright upset against a powerful Georgia team, but we don’t think the stage will be too big for them and they will keep the game within the lofty 17-point spread. Play this now with our friends at BetOnline, as we are starting to see 16.5s showing up in the market.
Middle Tenn St. vs James Madison — Under 59.5
Betting 2 units
The total on this game is simply too high. We feel this number should be closer to 52 or 53 and we’ll take the value on the under. Middle Tennessee simply lacks in offensive talent and has the worst offensive line in Conference USA. James Madison takes a big move up from the FCS, but has the ability on defense to hold the Blue Raiders in check. On the other side of the ball, the Dukes rolled to an average of 38 points per game in ’21, but that was against an FCS schedule. With only five starters returning and the move to the Sun Belt, that figure will drop dramatically. We don’t see either team reaching 30 in this one. Bovada is currently dealing a 59.5.
