2-Team “Teaser” Parlay:
Ravens (-1) / Patriots (+8.5) – 2 units
For our inaugural pick of the NFL 2022 season, we are going to move the line in two games by teasing the Ravens from -7 to -1 and teasing the Patriots from +2.5 to +8.5. Baltimore Ravens (-1) @ New York Jets
Since the recent injury to Zach Wilson, we have seen line movement from the Ravens being favored by 5 over the Jets, to the Ravens currently favored by 7, with a few 7.5’s out there. Miami is favored by 2.5 across the board over New England.
While the Jets should be an improved team – nowhere to go but up – we don’t feel that they’ll be prepared to take down the Ravens, led by Lamar Jackson, Mark Andrews, and an always stingy defense. Add to that the Jets starting QB just had surgery on a torn meniscus and 2020 first-round tackle Mekhi Becton is out for the year – the guys in green are off to a rough start.
New England Patriots (+8.5) @ Miami Dolphins
In the Pats – Dolphins matchup, barring a preseason injury to any key Patriot player, it’s unlikely we’ll see movement from the 2.5 currently posted to 3. At 3 we would be buyers on Bill Belichick’s squad, but as it is we’d prefer to bump the 2.5 up to 8.5 and combine it with another game. We are not as high on this Dolphins team as others, and we think the Patriots will win this game, or at least keep it close.
We will rarely take 2.5 points in an NFL game. We’d rather tease a 2.5 through the key numbers of 3 and 7 or simply take the short dog on the moneyline.
We’re on 2 road teams for our first play of the season but we like the lines we are getting after the tease. We only need Baltimore to win by more than a point and we’ll happily take a touchdown plus with the underdog Pats. Let’s cash our first ticket of the NFL regular season!
