KC Chiefs team total over 28.5 — 2 units
We will be giving a look to Chiefs’ team totals to go over any time they are under 30. Tonight the number is set at 28.5 against the visiting Chargers.
Last week, Patrick Mahomes and company shredded the Arizona Cardinals 44-21. The Chiefs offense looked in midseason form as Mahomes completed 30 of 39 for 360 yards passing against an overmatched Cardinal D. This week they’ll face the Chargers defense whose top corner, JC Jackson is banged up with an ankle injury. We expect Kansas City to have success again, through the air and on the ground. The Charger D ranked 30th of 32 teams against the run in ‘21, so we should expect manageable downs and distance for the KC offense.
The other factor that should help the Chiefs exceed 28.5 is the fact that the Chargers should be able to produce points themselves, which of course means that the Chiefs will have to keep their foot on the gas. Justin Herbert is a rising star in the league who is capable of putting up points in bunches. We feel safer here with the Chiefs team total though as opposed to the game total, especially given that Keenan Allen won’t be going for LA.
