Pittsburgh vs. Cleveland — Under 38.5
On Thursday night, as we once again are forced to stream an NFL game like we’re stealing cable, we get an AFC North showdown between the Steelers and the Browns. Both teams are led by talented defenses, although injuries to TJ Watt, Jadeveon Clowney, and Myles Garrett deplete both teams of some star power. Both offenses are hindered by below-average quarterbacks in Mitch Trubisky and Jacoby Brissett, neither of whom have proved willing or able to push the ball down the field this season. Tonight should be no different, as each is facing the toughest defense they have seen this season, and maybe as importantly, the forecast in Cleveland calls for 20 mph winds gusting up to 30. Short of Darrelle Revis and Deion Sanders starting at cornerback, nothing shuts down a passing game better than winds in excess of 20 mph. Another factor going in our favor tonight is that there is a history of Thursday night games playing to the under. Teams are on a short week, and losing 2 days of game planning clearly influences the offenses. When the total is set at 40 or below on a Thursday night, the under is 20-6-2. Right now, we see a 38.5 at BetUS. Jump on this number now as 38 is becoming more prevalent in the market.
