Bantamweight: Cory Sandhagen vs. Song Yadong

  • Moneyline – Sandhagen (-215), Song (+164)
  • Prediction – Sandhagen by DEC
  • Best Bet – Sandhagen by DEC (+115)

Riding a three-fight win streak, Song Yadong takes on perennial bantamweight elite Cory Sandhagen, who has proven to present danger at all times. Song will look to utilize his (arguable) speed advantage to move and take away Sandhagen’s length. However, he’ll need to be extremely careful of Sandhagen’s timing on his counterstrikes. “The Sandman” throws and lands his flying knees better than most in MMA history, thanks to his usual height advantage.

Sandhagen offers up more of a threat with his submissions, and Song is more effective on the feet, so there’s no reason to expect this won’t be a striker’s delight for as long as it lasts. Ultimately, Sandhagen has more tools in his toolbox and is as durable as they come at 135-pounds. Song’s combination of speed and power will give Sandhagen fits, but he’ll need to sustain a higher pace for 25 minutes, which is uncharted territory for the 24-year-old.

Middleweight: Joseph Pyfer vs. Alen Amedovski

  • Moneyline – Pyfer (-430), Amedovski (+300)
  • Prediction – Pyfer by KO/TKO
  • Best Bet – Pyfer by first-round KO/TKO (+160)

*** Fight betting odds presented by Bovada Sportsbook ***

“Be like Joe Pyfer.” Dana White’s quote from this season’s Contender Series certainly plays true In this UFC debut matchup.

Pyfer’s hunger and aggression earned him a contract earlier this year, and he’ll surely look to show up and show out again. A big and powerful middleweight, Pyfer makes for an absolutely rough fourth UFC opponent for Amedovski. The Macedonian has lost three in a row, with the last two coming via knockout in less than 65 seconds each. It’s hard to imagine Pyfer getting things done at that same speed, but a finish in his favor in the opening frame is quite a safe bet.

Heavyweight: Tanner Boser vs. Rodrigo Nascimento

  • Moneyline – Boser (-200), Nascimento (+154)
  • Prediction – Boser by KO/TKO
  • Best Bet – Boser by KO/TKO (+120)

*** Fight betting odds presented by Bovada Sportsbook ***

Boser’s last victory against Ovince Saint Preux in July 2021 feels like a lifetime ago. He intended to fight sooner with one of his canceled matchups being against Nascimento, so the Canadian has already done some studying in preparation for this clash.

“The Bulldozer” is one of the more agile fighters at heavyweight, and he mixes up his attacks well, which should be able to frustrate his opponent. The last time Boser came out highly motivated, he turned around quickly to put away Raphael Pessoa in 2020.  Nascimento can certainly give Boser some problems on the feet. He’ll just be better off making the action ugly by trying to eliminate Boser’s mobility with his grappling, if possible.
