CFB Week 6: “Free Play Friday”

UNLV +6.5 vs. San Jose State (2 units)

The Mountain West Conference is stuck in the “upside down”.  Defending league champ Utah St. is a dumpster fire, San Diego State has forgotten how to play defense or throw the forward pass, and teams like UNLV and San Jose St. look like they’d like to go bowling this year.  UNLV has played in only one post-season game this century, but they are only two wins from bowl eligibility.  QB Doug Brumfield won the starting job in camp and has led the Rebels to a 4-1 mark behind his 8 TDs and 2 picks.  San Jose State’s strength lies in its defense, and they’ve been particularly stingy against the pass giving up only 155 yards per game.  ESPN’s FPI ranks these teams dead even and we see it the same way.  This should be a tight one and our numbers only make the Spartans one or two points favorites.  We’ll take the 6 and a hook here which is the number everywhere in the market.  We grabbed this one at Bovada.
