Purdue (+2.5) vs. Wisconsin
The wrong team is favored in this game. Linesmakers still want us to believe that this is a good Wisconsin team, but it just isn’t. They answered the bell after the firing of coach Paul Chryst by putting it to Northwestern, but last week lost outright as 7-point chalk to Michigan State. Purdue has reeled off 4 straight behind who we believe to be one of the most underrated players in the nation – QB Aidan O’Connell. Last week, he threw for 391 yards while Purdue racked up 38 first downs in their win over Nebraska. Purdue has a distinct advantage at QB in this matchup, as Wisconsin counters with 4th-year player Graham Mertz. While Mertz has actually looked better this year, the rest of this Wisconsin team has not. Their once dominant running game is in the middle of the NCAA pack and Purdue brings in the stronger defense against the run.
