Notre Dame visits Syracuse on Saturday with the Orange coming in off a disappointing loss to Clemson. The ‘Cuse had a 21-10 lead going into the 4th quarter but couldn’t hold on as the Tigers scored 17 unanswered points to close it out 27-21. Syracuse moved to 6-1 both straight up and against the spread behind one of the top defenses in college football.
The Irish offense has put some points on the board in recent weeks, but the slate of defenses they have faced over the last month is simply not good. UNLV, Stanford, BYU, and North Carolina are not nearly in the same class as Syracuse. Both teams play at a slow pace, prefer to run the ball, and each has played 2 games to the over and 5 games to the under.
