Chicago Bears vs. New England Patriots (-8)
If you played our VIPicks this weekend, you are on the Patriots here as the second half of a two-team teaser with Miami as a winning first half. Oh, and you are up a lot of cheddar as our VIPicks are 11-4 for the weekend heading into Monday night. We’ll double down on the Patriots for tonight’s free play and lay the eight-point spread. We typically don’t love laying this many points in the NFL, but this does not look like a good matchup for the Bears. Justin Fields runs a Bears passing offense that is just painful to watch. They are dead last in the NFL in attempts, completions, completion percentage, and yards. Yikes. The Patriots haven’t been strong against the run this year, but Chicago’s offensive line is not good enough to take advantage. The Bears’ defense is nearly as bad, power ranked 30th by Pro Football Focus. Mac Jones should be back for the Patriots but look for the Pats to get it done on the ground tonight behind Rhamondre Stevenson and Damien Harris. The Patriots are off-blowout wins against the Browns and Lions. Look for a solid victory over the Bears to make it three straight. Bovada is dealing an eight and we’ll play it there.
