The Dolphins travel to Detroit Sunday with the Fins favored by 3 and a “fish hook” with the total having gotten to 51.5. We remember Tua and friends having a historic 4th quarter explosion against the Ravens in Week 2, but the tough reality is that they haven’t broken 21 total offensive points in any of their other six games.
The Lions started the season on the opposite end of the spectrum as the premier “over” team in the league, blowing through the posted total by an average of 25 points per game through their first six. In the last two weeks, though, the Motown offense has evaporated. In losses to the Patriots and Cowboys, they have managed a total of 2 field goals.
We don’t see the offense coming back against Miami, who has been dishing out 3 and outs to their last two foes (Minnesota and Pittsburgh) like we hand out Snickers bars to our chubby neighbor kids on Halloween. Tua is back for the Dolphins but he just isn’t sharp. 51.5 is a big number in the NFL and is now above a key number of 51 (think 27-24 final).
Prediction: We’ll keep riding the “under” trend in NFL games this season and play the under 51.5 at BetUS
