UFC Fight Night 214: ‘Rodriguez vs. Lemos’ – Preview & Predictions

With Movsar Evloev having to pull out of the main event less than a month ago and his scheduled opponent Bryce Mitchell being rebooked for UFC 282, women’s Strawweight contenders Marina Rodriguez (16-1-2) and Amanda Lemos (12-2-1) will take center stage at the UFC APEX this Saturday in Las Vegas, Nevada.

In the co-main event, veteran Welterweights go to war when Neil Magny (26-9) squares off with Daniel Rodriguez (17-2). In addition — Bantamweight Nate Maness (14-2) drops down a weight class to take on Flyweight Tagir Ulanbekov (13-2), Lightweight finisher Grant Dawson (18-1-1) is matched up against the undefeated Olympic wrestler Mark Madsen (12-0), & veteran Heavyweight sluggers Josh Parisian (12-5) and Chase Sherman (16-10); all on the main card for UFC Fight Night 214 (Vegas 64).

Marina Rodriguez (-210) vs. Amanda Lemos

This should be a striking match between two of the better strikers in the division. Lemos is the more powerful striker and, if either fighter looks to land takedowns or have success on the mat, it should be her. Rodriguez is the fighter I trust more in a five-round fight. She is the smoother striker and the fighter I expect to land more volume. I don’t see her getting finished by Lemos and, the longer this fight goes, the more it should favor Rodriguez.  Bet Marina Rodriguez to win this fight on the moneyline (-210) at BetUS.

Marina Rodriguez vs Amanda Lemos

Chase Sherman vs. Josh Parisian (+114)

I don’t trust either fighter if I’m being completely honest, but I do favor Sherman on the feet and Parisian on the ground. If Sherman can keep this on the feet, then I think he is the more technical and powerful striker. Both fighters can strike at a high pace, but Sherman has a clear disadvantage off his back if Parisian is able to get takedowns. For that reason, I’ll take the chance on plus money and bet Josh Parisian on the moneyline (+114) at BetOnline

Neil Magny vs. Daniel Rodriguez (+100)

Daniel Rodriguez should land more volume and I favor him to win two rounds. “D-Rod” had one of his lower-volume performances in his last fight, but he still landed 88 significant strikes. On the other hand, Neil Magny has a total of 27 career fights in the UFC and has yet to land 88+ significant strikes more than once… and that was way back in 2016. Take Daniel Rodriguez on the moneyline (+100) and maybe sprinkle some on him winning by Decision (+230) at MyBookie.
