One thing that gamblers must understand is that sometimes numbers lie – or at least they don’t tell the whole story. UCF quarterback John Rhys Plumlee loves to run the ball – and when he does he is tough to stop. Plumlee opened the 2022 season averaging 100 yards per game on the ground in his first four games. In a midseason tilt against Cincinnati though, he suffered a shoulder injury that limited his carries in the 2nd half of the year. It didn’t stop him from hanging 176 yards rushing against a nasty Tulane defense and 133 against a not so nasty USF stop unit, though.
Now he heads into the ‘23 kickoff against Kent State and the Zips are severely overmatched in this one. Plumlee tallied 100 yards on 16 carries in last season’s opener against South Carolina St. We expect a similar effort here. We’ll call for Plumlee to blow through his rushing total prop of 47.5. We think this ticket could be a winner by halftime, and we’ll be playing this one at Bovada.
