The NFL preseason doesn’t always produce such boring, uneventful & low-scoring affairs…
The Indianapolis Colts scored an average of 25.7 points per game in the 2022 preseason, while the Buffalo Bills on the other hand were close behind at 23. Admittedly, the Bills were shut out in one game, but they were ultra-conservative with their player usage in that instance. These two teams similarly matched up in last year’s preseason week 1 game and ended with a 27-24 win for the home squad in Buffalo.
Because of the QB competence in Buffalo (Kyle Allen & Matt Barkley) and the very intriguing battle for reps in Indy (Anthony Richardson, Gardner Minshew & Sam Ehlinger), we should see both offenses fully capable of putting points on the board — even with their limited playbooks. With that being said, we’ll gladly take the over 38 total points in the game and hope for a good ole’ fashioned afternoon “preseason shootout” in beautiful Orchard Park, NY.
