The Carolina Panthers didn’t score a single point in their first preseason game against the Jets. Also, Bryce Young didn’t make a huge impact on his only drive, and Carolina’s main backup, Matt Corral, struggled to move the ball down the field. There’s no reason to assume that will change.
However, the Panthers defense gave up two touchdowns to veteran backup QB Tim Boyle, who went 9-of-10 for 84 yards. That type of performance is unlikely from either one of the Giants backups, Tommy DeVito & Tyron Taylor. Similarly, the Giants only scored 16 points (13 in the 1st half) in their first preseason game, and their stars likely won’t get much action either. Both teams’ 1st game would have gone under this total and we see this game going under as well.
