Arkansas vs. Mississippi State — under 61.5
It looks like there is a good chance that Arkansas QB KJ Jefferson misses this one – and that is a big problem for the Arkansas offense. If he does miss, the passing game against a hard-nosed Bulldog defense should struggle. For its part, Mississippi State will be able to move the ball against a Razorback stop unit that has been giving up 289 yards per game through the air. While Mike Leach’s team throws the ball at an extremely high rate (4th in the country), they do it in lieu of a running game. They throw bubble screens and short slants, which means a high completion percentage and a moving clock. While we see Mississippi State getting theirs, we don’t see Arkansas keeping up. Sharps have already pushed this total down assuming the absence of Jefferson. We’ll jump on the “under” train as well before this line goes any lower. Play this one at BetUS now.
Kansas Jayhawks (team total over 30.5)
TCU travels to Lawrence on Saturday in a battle of unbeatens – while both teams have covered every one of their games. TCU is seven-point chalk, and we lean toward the home team in this one, but we’d prefer a path of less resistance and we’ll be taking the Jayhawks and their upstart offense to go over the total of 30.5. Normally we won’t release too many team totals mid-week since the majority of sportsbooks don’t have the stones to post team totals until gameday. Tulane vs. East Carolina — under 56
If you have been following these pages, you know that we have bought into this Tulane defense and we have been enjoying some success by betting the Green Wave games under. Tulane probably wouldn’t be your first guess as to the best pass defense in the country, but that’s exactly what they are giving up an impressive 123 yards per game. On offense, the Wave hasn’t had quite the same success, and now their top two QB’s come into this game banged up and questionable. East Carolina, who has the 4th best defense in the AAC should limit the Tulane offense. We think this total is about five points too high and we’ll ride the Wave once again in another low-scoring affair. Snatch up the under 56 at MyBookie.
