Ohio State may have backed into the four team playoffs, but it is a dangerous team and we don’t think we’ll see the same Ohio State team that got routed by Michigan to end the season. Ohio State has had a month to stew about that performance and we expect them to show up in a bad mood for their playoff showdown against the defending champ Bulldogs of Georgia. Georgia once again steamrolled their regular season schedule, opening the season by trouncing Oregon and then cruising through their SEC schedule highlighted by a beatdown of the high-flying Tennessee Volunteers. They are rightfully favored here. We’ll be making a play on Ohio State, though. This is an uber talented team led by a plethora of future NFLers. While Michigan’s offensive line is considered the benchmark of front-fives, Ohio State’s actually grades out better, per Pro Football Focus. They should be able to give CJ Stroud enough time to do some damage to the formidable Georgia D. What is lost in Georgia’s 20 point victory over LSU in the SEC title game is LSU’s quarterbacks combining for over 500 yards passing against the Georgia defense. Yes, they were playing from behind the whole time, but 500 shows some chinks in the armor. Georgia will get theirs, but we see Ohio State going punch for punch. We’ll roll with the underdog Buckeyes and we will take the six being offered by Bovada.
