The nation’s current #1 ranked team, the Purdue Boilermakers (13-1), have struggled covering spreads all year. The Boilermakers have only covered the spread on four occasions and have yet to cover in Big Ten play… not to mention they’re coming off their first loss of the season, which happened at home on Monday night to the hands of Rutgers on Monday night. On the other side, the Ohio State Buckeyes (10-3) are enjoying a dominant stretch of games, winning five out of their last six contests with the only defeat in that span occurring in overtime against North Carolina. They also just beat a very solid Northwestern squad by double digits last time on the court. Ohio State has also yet to lose in seven games at home this season… and the crowd at ‘Value City Arena’ should be raucous as the Buckeyes stamp their case to join the elite of the Big Ten. Ultimately, we think the home-court advantage should be strong enough to propel Ohio State over the tower that is Boilermakers’ big man, Zach Edey, and toward a minor upset that will send Purdue reeling with their second straight loss.
